Terms of Service

Communication

  • Communication is conducted via DM through Discord (preferred), Twitter, Bluesky, Tumblr, Reddit or email.

  • Weekly updates will be sent in regards to the progress of the commission.

  • Commission turnaround is 1-2 months. Consistent communication can make the turnaround swifter.

  • Waitlist option is available upon inquiry and you will be informed if you wish to take a slot in the next batch.

Payment

  • Payment must be given prior to the beginning of the commission.

  • PayPal/Stripe. Invoices can be sent with VGen or through the former.

  • You may pay in full, partial 50%, or partial 33% to the invoice. Please note the payment must be completed to continue the process and receive the finished piece.

  • Final total is based on commission complexity.

What is considered complex?

  • Armor / Clothes / Gear - Dependent on how much detail are present in the outfit.

  • Weapons / Accessories - Similar to armor, some will be simple, others will be complex.

  • Tattoos - Dependent on how complicated the design is.

  • Wings - Action, size, and how many pairs of wings.

  • Pets / Familiars / Minions - Most of the minions should be fairly simplistic in design. Familiars and pets that require more care in detail regarding fur/feather/scales/patterns.

This is a generalization of what I look for but some requests will ask for something that may not be listed here due to how rare it happens with its own challenges.

Revisions Policy

Based on progress of the commission, you will have a set amount of revisions. Any extra revisions will incur a fee.

  • Sketch: Up to three rounds of major revisions can be made regarding posing, expression, hair, etc. This is where the most changes must be done before lining.

  • Color: Up to two rounds of minor revisions can be made in regards to skin tones and overall color palette.

  • Final: Only one round of minor revisions can be made here as the piece reaches to completion.

Refund Policy

  • I am committed to your commission, if I cannot complete it, a refund will be issued.

  • Refunds are available depending upon the amount of progress made to the commission.

  • No refunds will be made after the completion of the commission.

Important Details

  • I, the artist, have the right to post all works onto the proper social media w/ watermarks and if the client wishes to be tagged.

  • Commissions ordered are for personal use only such as icons, banners, personal gallery, etc.

  • Commercial work is subject to additional terms and contract in place.

  • Clients must credit the artist when sharing or displaying artwork.

  • Clients cannot claim ownership, edit, or profit (unless commercial) from the artwork.

  • Clients are not permitted, under any circumstances, to use part or all of their commissioned artwork for blockchain-related technology, cryptocurrency, NFTs (non-fungible tokens), AI technology, and any future inventions or businesses.

Reference Photos

When it comes to taking photos of your character, many artists I have seen want a clean set like these below.

This makes it easy to see any details of your character, what clothes they are wearing, hair, and colors!
Try to avoid using filters over your photos that could manipulate the colors of your character!
While this page is to assist mainly FFXIV clients, some tips here still applies to any in game characters!

Studio and Lighting

Here is my personal apartment you can use for screenshots. For a basic set of screenshots we need a simple room like this:

Items Used:

  • 3x Dragon Floor Lamp (Mogmul Mogbelly - Churning Mists)

  • Min. 3x Stage Panels (Housing Merchant)

  • 2x Indirect Wall Lighting (Craftable / Marketboard)

  • Combed Wool Rug (Craftable / Marketboard)

The left photo uses no filters and the right uses a filter to boost the colors and lighting to a more desirable state. This room helps making reference photos easy, but we shall also keep in mind about GPose having the lovely light menu. Not everyone will have the tools or space to have a studio. So let's try the beach!

This is a good spot too because there is less noise surrounding the character. We can focus on just them and using the light menu helps boost their visibility. This was taken at night time in the game.I always place the 3 light sources in front of the character and then on each side of them. Also to assist, you can use the character lighting slider at the bottom to gauge how much you need reflective light on your character.

Photos like these can work as references as well despite the surroundings and dynamic pose. We can see the subject well it and there is very little noise behind the subject. But at the end of the day, we want references to look like the first set I shared.

Reference Folders

  • VGen has it's own system where you can upload images when submitting a request. Also has a characters section to post any references on their site.

  • Compile all the images you plan to send either in DeviantArt Stash, Google drive, or Dropbox that can be easily accessed. Imgur is fine but they no longer host NSFW imagery.

  • If using my request form: Make sure all images are compiled into a ZIP file. You can compress your folder by right clicking on it and it should have the option to compress through Windows.

  • My preference: Please have at minimum 4 images per character that is recent and relevant regarding details such as tattoos, beauty marks, etc.

  • Any pose references provided (stick figure drawings or photo references). A short description in text is fine too.

Commission Information

Sketch

This selection has rough or clean lines, minimal shading and highlights. Will be fully colored with simple lighting and shading.If you add a custom background, there will be experimental lighting and shadows.The following is included:

  • Single Character option

  • Two Characters option

  • Custom / Preferred pose

  • Solid color / Simplified background

Important Information

  • Make sure to provide all information and images to ensure what is the mood/setting that you intend to see be reflected in the commission.

  • Several characters can be added to the canvas (max. 2) but will cost an additional fee per character.

  • Alternate versions apply to different hairstyles, outfits, accessories, and expressions. Complexity alongside adding other versions will incur a fee.

  • Custom backgrounds are subject to an additional fee and will vary on what is asked for and if it requires attention to details or is meant to be obscured.

Additional Characters: + $100 per
ALT Versions: + 10% - 30%
Background: + 10% - 50%

Illustration

This selection has clean linework, layers of color rending, blending with highlights and details. Some painterly elements with a mixture of cell and soft shading. Simple to environmental lighting.If you add a custom background, there will be experimental lighting and shadows.The following is included:

  • Single Character option

  • Two Characters option

  • Custom / Preferred pose

  • Solid color / Simplified background

Important Information

  • Make sure to provide all information and images to ensure what is the mood/setting that you intend to see be reflected in the commission.

  • Several characters can be added to the canvas (max. 2) but will cost an additional fee per character.

  • Alternate versions apply to different hairstyles, outfits, accessories, and expressions. Complexity alongside adding other versions will incur a fee.

Reference Sheet

This selection has flat colors with minimal shading and assortment of details. Following is included:

  • Front and back facing full body (underwear only)

  • One outfit included (Simple/Casual only)

  • Front and side profile (Neutral Expression)

  • Color palette

  • Small additions I see fit (eyes, mouth, horn references etc.)

  • Any text information you want to add (within reason, must fit on canvas)

Important Information

  • Make sure to provide all information and images to ensure this reference sheet reflects what important details need to be known regarding this character's design and sheet.

  • If I am drawing a character from the ground up based on text/mood boards/inspirations, the price will go higher due to the possibility of many revisions during the process.

  • If you want to add something that is not listed already is subject to an additional fee.

  • If you intend to swap something from what is included to be something else. Please let me know. (Ex. Front and side headshot profile instead becomes a front and back bust shot.)

Sketch Page

This selection is an assortment of poses with up to 2 character(s) in various acts. Will be fully colored with simple lighting and shading.

*Page can have up to two characters by default, adding characters incurs an additional fee. Up to two more characters can be added.

The following is included:

  • Up to two characters

  • Multiple Poses (max. 5)

  • Only one pose can be a weapon pose

  • Small additions I see fit (panels, speech bubbles, zoom ins, etc)

  • Any text you want to add (within reason, must fit on canvas)

  • Simple background (in one large section or small sections)

Note: If NSFW there will be no background option and weapon option.

Important Information

  • Make sure to provide all information and images to ensure what is the mood/setting that you intend to see be reflected in the commission.

  • Several characters can be added to the canvas (max. 2) but will cost an additional fee per character.

  • BDSM gear and accessories are optional but will incur a fee based on what is asked.
